WELCOME

Like many other clubs, the Blackpool and North Fylde MRC has, in its fairly short life been here, there and everywhere but we have at last settled in a fairly spacious building in Carleton, at the northern end of Blackpool, where we meet on Monday evenings from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.

The club rooms afford space for some private projects but they are mainly used for the building and maintenance of club layouts.

We are afforded a wide variety of talent and modelling expertise from the membership in areas such as woodworking, wiring, track laying, scenic modelling, etc.

Most members buy “off the shelf” or “ready to run” locos and rolling stock but some have impressed us with their skills at scratch and loco kit building.

Members' interests cover most eras, gauges and countries ranging from ‘N' through ‘00' and ‘H0' to ‘O' gauge and garden railways covering British, Continental and US operations across most parts of the 20th and into the 21st century.

As well as some social events our main exposure to the  general public is over two weekends each year where we exhibit our layouts. An "Open Day" is held each February where we primarily display club and members' own layouts.

Our flagship exhibition, held every September.   We have a new venue Thornton Sports Center YMCA

See our Exhibition's page for more details.
