Welcome
Like many other clubs, the Blackpool and North Fylde MRC has, in its fairly short life been here, there and everywhere but we have at last settled in a fairly spacious building in Carleton, at the northern end of Blackpool, where we meet on Monday evenings from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
The club rooms afford space for some private projects but they are mainly used for the building and maintenance of club layouts.
We are afforded a wide variety of talent and modelling expertise from the membership in areas such as woodworking, wiring, track laying, scenic modelling, etc.
Most members buy “off the shelf” or “ready to run” locos and rolling stock but some have impressed us with their skills at scratch and loco kit building.
Members' interests cover most eras, gauges and countries ranging from ‘N' through ‘00' and ‘H0' to ‘O' gauge and garden railways covering British, Continental and US operations across most parts of the 20 th century.
As well as some social events our main exposure to the general public is over three weekends each year where we exhibit our layouts. “Raildays” are held every February and July where we primarily display club layouts and we host a flagship exhibition every September where we invite exhibitors and traders from all parts of the UK.
